Hello S79, I have finally gotten hold of the Ant and Zona to tell me how I may post an entry on our class blog without them adding my name to the account. Frankly, I don't blog. The last time I put something up on a blog was 3 years back, on Multiply, an account which I had set up with my form class back in 2005. Back in my tertiary education days, I also had a Friendster account, but that also died a natural death.

This is not at all strange considering I was writing in a traditional diary all throughout my primary, secondary and JC years. It started with this thin girlish diary that had a small silver padlock on its side, which was more ornamental than functional on hindsight, but which I truly trusted to keep my secrets safe from the prying hands of my mother. I 'graduated' to this really thick book which was slipped into a hardcover jacket. I easily used up 3 of such books over the 4 years in Nanyang. ( I guess being in NYGH made me really angsty and I just had so much to complain about) The habit of writing pages of entries every night before I hit the sack stuck with me to my days in Hwa Chong. Having crushes on the President of the Student Council made it very easy for me to lapse into this trance of writing, many times soaking the pages with tears of unrequited 'love' (cue S79 students gagging).

So when the blog caught on with everyone else in my batch of Uni mates, I really wasn't very excited (because unknown to her friends, Granny Yeo was busy recording the day's events in the good old book with pages soft with tears, snot and thumbing). Despite friends egging me to start an account and to comment on their posts, I usually couldn't keep up the 'enthusiasm' for long.

In any case, I decided to write on the class blog because I believe I have an affinity with all of you. Like I mentioned on the day I introduced myself, we are exactly 1 lunar cycle apart in terms of our age. When I look at all of you, I see myself 12 years back, giddy with excitement from the Orientation, dazed by your first long hours of lectures and hypnotising tutorials and reeling from the sheer number of activities (and endless festivities to celebrate and banners to paint).

Rest assured I will not flood the class blog with my rantings. I will write only when I have the time (which is not often), and when I see the need to.

Term 1 has been very hectic and fast-paced. Many of you may feel as if you have been hit at the back of your head by a swing coming down on you at full speed. I feel like a rabbit caught in the headlights of a speeding car - always managing to dart out of the path or else lie down and hope to be between the wheels.

However, take heart !! The term will close with this week and yipee, many of us can fall into that day-long coma we have all been planning for. I will also be running away for just Saturday and Sunday into Malaysia (not in search of the runaway JI Leader), to get away from this 'madness'.

Let's come back in Term 2 recharged, refreshed and raring to go !!
